Only one major release this week, but isn't it a cracker!? The follow up to Realtime Worlds' Crackdown, Crackdown 2 is instead developed by Ruffian Games (incidentally, founded by two of the lead designers from Crackdown), who look to expand on the sprawling city sandbox from the first with the all-new terror on the streets with escaped mutant beings, or “freaks”. Players will now also be able to team up with friends and others in the addition of four player cooperative play, as well as experiencing all new superpowers (such as the brilliant 'Superjump') and brand new weapons. Orb collecting returns from the first and will be required to experience all the game has to offer, in upgrading your Agent. Competitive multiplayer is featured beside the single player campaign also, allowing up to 16 players to fight in a bid for dominance. [Xbox 360]
Take a look at my hands-on with the game's demo.
